The following is an email I recieved from a friend of mine visiting Dubai … It’s very interesting what you read in the newspapers outside of this country … pay particular attention to the last bit regarding Russia

The Watch Dog

Good-morning from Dubai:

I was having coffee and reading the Gulf News here at the J.W. Marriott when on page 9 in the opinion section appeared the headline: “OBAMA IS NOW WORLD’S LEADING SPOKESMAN.”

In another piece by Maureen Dowd titled: “If only Gandhi had won it” [yes the Arabs like Dowd because she hates George W. Bush] makes the point that in the Oval office will hang Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize as he sends more troops to Afghanistan. Dowd jokes that Obama should have gotten the Nobel in chemistry, because chemistry is all he’s got.

She goes on to say: “The only peace Obama has made is bringing together the Taliban, Rush Limbaugh, the Palestinians and the Israelis to agree the guy is undeserving.”

I read another article by Abdullah Al Shayyi who said: “It will be a travesty if the Obama administration squanders the goodwill it has been handed by the Arabs and Muslims.” YIKES !

Finally…in the business section, there was in interesting piece on the Russian economy where there unemployment rate is 7.5%. At an investment forum in Moscow, PM Putin vowed to reduce the government’s role in the economy. But here at home our president, the congress and yes, even some republicans want to increase the government’s role in the US economy. So, is President Obama now governing to the left of Vladimir Putin?

I REALLY MISS REAGAN !!!

Is Obama changing strategies ?

The Democrats for eight years called George Bush a failure and a looser … in spite of that he kept us from further attacks.

Now, Obama with pressure from the left is waffling on the strategy for Afghanistan … In March he seemed definite on the strategy implemented at that time. However the strategy was not supported with an adequate number of troops, thus resulting in an increase of Taliban and Al Qaeda activity and an increase of death and injury to our troops.

Currently Obama is waffling on supplying additional troops as needed. He says he wants to be sure of the right strategy … ??? In his campaign he claimed this as the right war … Then declared the strategy unveiled in March as the right strategy … now he is not sure ?

With pressure from the left and rising troop deaths it appears that Obama has no clue what to do. Do not be surprised if he ignore the military experts and develops his own strategy.

Right now Obama is on track to be the biggest presidential looser … thus replacing Jimmy Carter.

Why we’re talking about race – again

The healthcare deadlines and breathlessness to get it passed were because Democrats knew that if Americans got a chance to understand what they were trying to do, there would be push-back

Star Parker, founder and president of CURE

The Democrats have lost the health care debate.

For months now, polls have been showing that Americans don’t want the massive new government controls, regulations, taxes, and spending that Democrats are pushing.

Latest Gallup polling shows 60 percent saying that President Barack Obama’s proposal will not expand health coverage without raising taxes on middle class Americans and without affecting the current quality of health care.

Forty three percent approve of how Obama is handling health care and 52 percent disapprove.

You would be hard pressed to find a Democrat or Republican who does not agree that we can improve how we deliver health care.

So the logical conclusion we’d expect now from well intentioned people would be that we go back to square one. We do what Obama promised but never did — have a truly open, bi-partisan discussion, with all ideas are on the table, to generate the best possible product for the American people.

Why is this not happening? Because it’s not about healthcare. It’s about ideology.

Despite claims from our Democrat administration that it wants civility, it does not. It wants control.

This nation is already torn apart ideologically. In the last four month,s we’ve witnessed two cold-blooded ideologically motivated murders. An abortion doctor shot in a church and a pro-life demonstrator murdered in a drive-by shooting in front of a school.

There are fewer and fewer “self evident truths” about which we all agree.

The current charade to paint ideological differences with our president as racially motivated dangerously pours gasoline on the burning embers of our differences.

But this is what Democrats want. They have lost the health-care debate on substance, so they want to make it emotional. They want to intimidate. And nothing intimidates and polarizes like race.

Months ago they started the process of getting socialized medicine — taking over one sixth of the American economy — passed in a few short weeks. The deadlines and breathlessness were because they knew that if Americans got a chance to understand what they were trying to do there would be push back. Exactly what has happened.

When the President spoke recently before the joint session of Congress, he finished by asking that we replace “acrimony with civility.” But in this same speech he characterized his opposition as fomenting a “partisan spectacle,” of “scare tactics” and of “wild claims about a government takeover of health care.”

Our smooth talking President reduced those who disagree with him to a bunch of clowns, incorporated not a single major reform idea coming from the opposition, and then accused Republicans of stifling “honest debate.”

Is it any wonder that every freedom loving American is at wits end? And that Congressman Joe Wilson lost it when he yelled out “You lie.”

To demonstrate the Obama team’s interest in civility, immediately after the speech, Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s foul-mouthed, take-no-prisoners chief of staff, “charged over to three Republicans,” as reported by the Wall St. Journal, “demanding in a profanity-laced tirade that they force Mr. Wilson to apologize.”

Cong. Jim Clyburn, third ranking House Democrat, and black caucus member, took the lead in getting a House vote to formally reprimand Wilson. According to Clyburn, “This is about the rules of the House.”

But what rules does Clyburn really care about?

When asked in an interview where the Constitution gives the federal government authority to regulate health care delivery, Clyburn replied, “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says that the federal government has anything to do with most of the stuff we do.”

Finally an honest Democrat. Clyburn pulled no punches that our Constitution, which is the basis of his authority, is irrelevant to him. That it’s all about political thuggery.

Which is why we’re now talking about race instead of health care.

Obama’s end game with this and other initiative’s, is to make the citizens of this country completely dependent upon government … thus controlling everything we do.

This week Sen. Max Baucus introduced a major proposal on healthcare in an attempt to redo the system. The Baucus Bill for an amount of $856 billion included new insurance regulations ….

Under the bill, people will be required to have insurance or pay a penalty. Also included are subsidies … Another key feature would be a tax on the so called “Cadillac Healthcare Plans”. This tax is said to be upwards of 35% of the cost of the plan and be used to fund the subsidies ….

The Baucus plan is catching heat from the conservatives for the cost as well as the liberals for not including a public option and for the tax on “Cadillac Plans” that are the sweet heart plan of most union members.

My opinion is that Sen. Baucus is being used by the President & his staff to propose a plan that will go no where so that Obama can come back in and lead the charge again for the “Public Option” plan that he so much favors. The whole deal was a set up / smoke screen from the beginning.

Dear Supporter:

Dick Morris, chief strategist for the League of American Voters, recently penned the article below for Dickmorris.com. Please take a moment to read it.

Also, we need to continuing exposing Obama and, as Dick puts it, his “fraud and trick.”

Help us with our national media campaign exposing Obamacare — Go Here Now.

Bob Adams
Executive Director

BEWARE THE PUBLIC OPTION TRAP
By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

As any good Persian rug dealer knows, you have to hold back a bargaining chit so that you can whip it out at the very end to tie down the sale. That’s how Obama is playing the so-called public option in his healthcare program. His plan seems to be to combine its abandonment with some form of tort reform and try to buy off some Republicans – maybe only Maine’s Olympia Snowe – to give moderate Democrats enough confidence in the veneer of bi-partisanship to win their backing for his bill.

But it’s a fraud and a trick.

Here’s why:

(a) Whether or not there is a public option makes no difference in the fundamental objection most elderly have to the bill – that it guts Medicare and Medicaid. All of the bills now under consideration cut these two programs by one half of a trillion dollars. And all of them require the medical community to serve thirty to fifty million new patients without any concomitant growth in the number of doctors or nurses. These cuts and shortages will lead to draconian rationing of medical care for the elderly, whether under a public option or not.

(b) The most likely proposal is to replace the public option with some form of buyer’s co-op. But since there is no currently existing co-op to serve as a vehicle for health insurance, it would have to be formed. By who? The government, of course. That would mean, as a practical matter, that the “co-op option” would be a government run plan for several years. In fact, they may not get around to setting up a co-op at all.

(c) The other alternative, mentioned by Senator Snowe herself, would be for a “trigger” mechanism. This provision would require the creation of a public alternative to private insurance plans if, after a specified period of time, they did not lower rates to a pre-determined level. Given the escalation of healthcare costs, it is almost inevitable that this provision would lead to a government plan. And, anyway, who says that the government insurance option would be more successful in reducing costs?

But Obama has to at least appear to be willing to compromise, so he has invented the idea of re-packaging the public option in order to seem to be flexible.

The key, here, is not to be distracted by the debate over the public option. It matters very much to private insurance companies whether the government becomes their competitor, but, for the elderly (and the near-elderly), the key concern is not the public option by the rationing and cuts projected under the program.

In the Clinton Administration, we worked hard to kill the proposed Medicare cuts and are no less committed to stopping them in the Obama presidency. That they were once proposed by the right and are now being pushed by the left makes no difference. A cut is a cut is a cut. And Medicare should not be cut.

Note from the League: Obama is campaigning all around the nation to re-gain support for Obamacare. We have a good chance of stopping him but we must continue the fight.

Today most of us are remembering or reliving September 11th in our mind …

Earlier this morning I was watching the remembrance of 911 on television …. tuned into Fox News. I thought, lets take a look and see what coverage the other net works are having …. ABC and CBS were following Mayor Bloomberg’s speech from NYC as was Fox News ….. wouldn’t you know, the socialist net work NBC had their regular programming on.

It shows NBC’s disrespect for the victims of 911 as well as our troops fighting to keep us free.

Be sure to pray for our troops and remember the victims of 911 and their families.

What is the consensus now on Obamacare ? After more than 45 minutes of speech, it appears that little has changed … he has just repackaged the plan.

Pundits disagree on some of the points :
1. Public Option – some say he took it off the table … I don’t think he did.
2. Tort Reform – Some felt he gave the green light for this .. Others said he did not go far enough.
3. Cost of the Program – Obama says that it will not cost us additional money … Most people would agree that’s not so.

Real Healthcare Reform

I think everyone would agree that there is a real need for healthcare reform, just what it looks like, how it will work and what the cost will be is where people disagree.

To have real reform, a workable system and cost containment we need the following.
1. Real “Tort Reform” … not some watered down meaningless version.
2. Insurance Reform – The ability to purchase across state lines, Optin with pre-existing conditions, non cancellation or premium increase when you get sick.
3. Workable plan to increase healthcare workers … doctors, nurses, etc.
4. Elimination of waste and fraud in existing plans …. medicaid and medicare.
5. Optin of everyone … there are people who have healthcare available but choose not to have it.

These 5 items, if addressed properly will greatly improve our system without diminishing current levels of care for those already covered.

Czars … what do they do ? who do they answer to?

The questions of what Czars do and who do they answer to are questions that when asked, most people don’t have answers for…. in fact I recently asked a friend if he followed politics, he answered … not closely. I then asked if he knew anything about the Czars in the Obama administration, to which he asked what are Czars and what do they do ?
(this is interesting, because my friend works in Washington D.C.)

There are currently 30 some Czars in Obama’s administration. As I understand it … these people are hired by the administration to Lord over their appointed area and promote a certain policy or agenda that is in step with Obama’s agenda.

The questions I raise on these Czars are :

1. Who picks and vetts these people ?
2. Who do they answer to ?
3. Why are they not approved by congress ?
4. Are they rendering the Cabinet useless ?
5. Where is the oversight ?

It would appear that the use of Czars is an end around attempt to circumvent congress and the constitution in implementing policy ….

Like my friend …. most people are not aware of what’s happening … that is exactly what Obama and his minions are hoping for ….. Now is the time to have discussion with your friends and those who represent us in congress … tell them how you feel.

Socialism or Fascism … are we there ? In a recent article Jan Markell wrote regarding our direction to Fascism she explains where we are on this path …

Be alert … We can alter this path …

The Watch Dog

Are We on a Slippery Slope to Fascism?
By Jan Markell

I have been troubled as I hear people saying that America is heading down a Socialist or Fascist path very similar to what happened in Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 1940s. But I must now acknowledge that these observers are much more right than wrong. One article that convinced me was Joseph Farah’s editorial on World Net Daily for August 11, “None Dare Call it Totalitarianism.” He wrote a follow-up on WND August 17 listing the comparisons to Nazi Germany. I do not always agree with Farah but I feel he has done his homework on the above.

On “Understanding the Times” radio this past weekend, I had Holocaust survivor Anita Dittman share her insights on this topic. Both she and her mother were sent to concentration camps and were scheduled to be gassed but were spared by one miracle after another. Both were Jewish believers in Jesus. They saw first-hand how Germany had morphed into a Fascist dictatorship.

So, is America on that slippery slope? Unless the church gets much more involved in restoring America, I would have to say yes. It seems secular humanism is the primary religion in America today as churches grow more and more silent and stray from sound teaching. And government is god.

How can we learn from Nazi Germany’s mistakes? Is there time to reverse what is happening in our great nation?

In Germany, “mercy killing” became the policy. Over 270,000 handicapped people were killed because in Germany, murder had become “mercy.” Pastors went to call on their elderly members in hospitals and they had disappeared.

Anita pointed to many other troubling issues, as the people were primed for a dictator with promises from Hitler, even if they were all false. Then the government took over private business, industry, and health care.

Hitler took control of the airwaves. He allowed no dissenters. Barack Obama has recently appointed Mark Lloyd, an extreme Leftist in ideology, as head of the FCC. He is not bashful in saying that he is going to fine conservative/Christian networks for presenting the kind of programming they do. The nearly $250 million fine money will be turned over to National Public Radio (NPR). Obviously no network could survive such a fine when radio today is suffering like many other industries. While you may think he will only target Rush and Sean, I assure you that “Understanding the Times” radio is in the crosshairs.

Pastors in Germany came under the gun — literally. If they spoke against Hitler or his policies, they were punished. We have “hate crime” laws in America now that have pastors and other good and righteous people targeted.

Anita Dittman recalls that many of the German people were blind. They were in a daze. And, they were biblically illiterate, even if they were long-time church members. Most churches had been watered down and thus marched willingly along, making no effort to stand for truth. Perhaps, had they been biblically grounded, they might not have caved.
In Germany, Fascism was basically Socialism. The Obama administration could very well be destroying the free-market system — as did Hitler, knowing that people will have no place to turn except to government — and this government wants to institute Socialism. Newsweek magazine said months ago in its cover story, “We Are All Socialists Now.” Not quite yet, but we’re heading there.
